who's it for?
Level 4 Sports Coach is the new industry standard apprenticeship for people who work in high-performance, community and school coaching environments. As part of the apprenticeship, the apprentice will focus on achieving the school coach pathway, which is ideal for anyone who coaches in a physical education and school sports setting.
The Level 4 Sports Coach Apprenticeship Standard is designed with a set of 9 ‘core duties’ that all sports coaching apprentices must achieve. They will also be required to achieve the 4 ‘optional duties’ that are specific to school coaches.
To achieve the apprenticeship standard successfully the apprentice must demonstrate that they have achieved all 13 duties by displaying the key knowledge, skills and behaviours that are associated with a school sports coach.
Apprentices will also gain additional training to add value to their apprenticeship.
