This month at FSSG, we celebrated National Apprenticeship Week from the 5th to the 11th of February. This year’s theme of “Skills for Life” brought together individuals, employers, training providers, and communities to celebrate the value, benefits, and opportunities that apprenticeships offer.
And we’re no different!
During Apprenticeship Week, we took the time to highlight our amazing apprentices and tutors, from tutors like our very own Jodie Love, who was celebrated for her support and resourcefulness, to learners like Morgan who has completed his sports coaching apprenticeship and is now training to become a tutor himself.
Apprenticeship week is a time to celebrate the great strides that apprentices make to pursue their passions. Apprenticeships allow employers and employees to grow new talent and develop a motivated, skilled, and qualified workforce. Amanda, one of our sports coaching tutors, highlighted the role that staff like her play in encouraging apprenticeship talent. She added:
“It’s important to establish a supportive and trusting relationship with your apprentices, and make them feel comfortable sharing their concerns and challenges.”
With nationally recognised qualifications that offer relevant experience and valuable industry contacts, apprentices improve productivity and the quality of products or services and adapt training according to the needs of a business.
Whether you’re a school leaver or currently employed, there’s an apprenticeship for you.
